Corfu Parties

20th May 2012 / Author: admin

In my more youthful days I’d head off on holiday with a huge gang of pals every August, and we’d have a week of party madness. They were terrific times.
We’d rent a few villas in Corfu, and every night one of the villas used to be the venue for a party.
Frequently come the end of the trip there were people from everywhere in the local area turning up at our parties, holiday-makers and locals, and on the final day we would always organize a big cleaning effort, and everybody was obliged to get involved.
Once we were done, you would never have believed the carnage that had ensued in the course of our vacation!

Recently I began angling, which I find amazingly relaxing.
A friend of mine had been telling me for several years that there is nothing better than standing by the riverside, waiting for a fish. I couldn’t see the attraction, truth be told, however eventually I I tried it. And I have to say that I love it. I go nearly every weekend, and although we put nearly all of the catches into the river again, I always retain one to cook on the BBQ for dinner.

In October I’ll be going to visit my mother and father in Tenerife. They relocated to the island once they had taken retirement, and they are loving the change of pace. The house was bought outright, so they can just unwind and enjoy their golden years in the sunshine. It is strange to see my father so chilled out: he was always tense and uptight before because of his work.
Perhaps there is hope for me in the future!

Now that I’m more mature, I like tranquil holidays, away from the crowded resorts and fellow tourists.
Whenever I can, I like to head somewhere with beautiful scenery, so that I am able to paint. I have enjoyed a lot of fabulous holidays in the hills of southern Europe, and I adore the peace and quiet of staying by myself, in the midst of the landscape, simply immersing myself in the ambiance. It is so far from the chaotic speed of living in Britain, where I am continually dashing from one thing to another.

No More Rushing

Now that I am more mature, I like tranquil vacations, away from the busy resorts and fellow tourists.
If I am able to, I like to head somewhere with beautiful landscape, such that I can take photographs.
I’ve enjoyed a number of marvellous vacations in the foothills of southern Europe, and I adore the tranquility of being on my own, in the midst of nowhere, just absorbing the ambience. It is so unlike the chaotic pace of living in the UK, where I’m continually dashing from one place to the next.

In November I will be going to see my mother and father in Mallorca. They relocated there after they’d retired, and they are really enjoying the change of pace.
The mortgage has been paid off, therefore they are free to simply chill out and spend their retirement in the sun.
It’s funny to see my dad so relaxed: he was always tense and uptight before because of his job. Possibly there’s hope for me too!

In 2010 I started coarse-fishing, which I find extremely peaceful.
A friend of mine had told me for years that there’s little better than being by a river, holding on for a bite.
I couldn’t really see the attraction, to tell the truth, however in the end I I tried it.
And I can safely say that I really like it. We go most weekends, and although we put most of the fish back, I normally retain one to cook on the BBQ for dinner.

In my 20s I’d head off on holiday with a large gang of pals each year, and we would enjoy a fortnight of Bacchanalian madness.
Those were brilliant days. We would rent two or three villas in Corfu, and every night one of the villas would host a party. Generally come the end of the trip there were folk from everywhere in the local area coming to our raves, holidaymakers and locals, and on our final day we’d always organise a major cleaning effort, and everybody was obliged to lend a hand.
Once we had finished, you wouldn’t have suspected the carnage which had ensued during the vacation!

We go most weekends, and although we put almost all of the catches into the river again, I always keep one to cook on the fire for dinner.

In January I’ll be traveling to see my mum and dad in Tenerife. They moved there once they had stopped working, and they’re loving the change of pace. Chilling Out

This November I will be going to see my mother and father in Tenerife. They relocated there after they had retired, and they’re loving the lifestyle. The house was bought outright, so they are able to simply relax and spend their retirement in the sunshine.
It’s strange to see my old man that chilled out: he had always been tense and uptight previously due to his work.

Now that I am more mature, I like tranquil holidays, away from the busy tourism centres and other holiday-makers.
Whenever I am able to, I try to go someplace with pleasant landscape, such that I am able to draw. I’ve enjoyed a number of lovely holidays in the foothills of Continental Europe, and I love the peace and quiet of staying on my own, in the middle of the countryside, just absorbing the environment. It is so far from the chaotic pace of life in Britain, where I am always rushing from one thing to another.

In 2009 I started fishing, which I find extremely relaxing.
My friend had told me for years that there is little better than being by the riverside, waiting for a fish.
I couldn’t really understand the attraction, to tell the truth, but in the end I I tried it.
And I must say that I love it.
I go most weekends, and though I throw almost all of the catches back, I normally keep one to grill on the barbeque for supper.

Back in the day I’d go on holiday with a big group of pals every July, and we’d enjoy a week or two of hedonistic madness.
They were brilliant times.
We’d hire several villas in Corfu, and each evening one of the villas would host a party. Frequently come the conclusion of our holiday there were people from throughout the region turning up at our raves, tourists and natives, and on the final evening we’d unfailingly have a huge cleaning effort, and everybody was obliged to assist. Lifestyle Adjustment

This October I’ll be traveling to visit my parents in Tenerife.
They moved to the island once they had taken retirement, and they are loving the lifestyle. Their house is paid off, so they are free to just relax and spend their old age in the sunny weather. It is odd to see my father so calm: he was always tense and uptight previously due to his work.
Possibly there’s a chance for me too!

Given that I am older, I like peaceful holidays, far from the packed resorts and fellow tourists. If I am able to, I try to head someplace with pleasant scenery, so that I can draw.
I’ve had lots of superb holidays in the mountains of the European continent, and I love the peace and quiet of being by myself, in the middle of the countryside, simply soaking up the environment. It’s so different to the stressful pace of life in the UK, where I’m constantly dashing from one thing to another.

Back in the day I would go on holiday with a large bunch of pals each July, and we’d enjoy a week of party chaos. They were wonderful times. Ways to Relax

A couple of years ago I took up fishing, which I find extremely peaceful. A friend of mine had told me for ages that there’s nothing better than standing by the riverside, holding on for a fish. I could not see the attraction, to tell the truth, however eventually I I tried it.
And I have to say that I really like it. We fish most weekends, and although we put almost all of the catches into the river again, I always keep one to grill on the barbeque for supper.

It is so different to the stressful pace of living back home, where I’m always hurrying from one appointment to another.

This November I will be going to drop in on my parents in Lanzarote. They moved there after they had retired, and they’re really enjoying the lifestyle. The house was bought outright, so they can just relax and spend their golden years in the sunshine. It’s weird to see my old man that calm: he was always stressed before due to his work. Possibly there’s hope for me in the future!

When I was younger I would go on vacation with a big group of mates every August, and we’d have a fortnight of party insanity. They were wonderful times. We would hire a couple of villas in Corfu, and then every night one of the villas would be the venue for a rave.
Generally come the finish of the holiday there were people from across the town turning up at the parties, holidaymakers and local people, and on our last day we’d always have a big cleaning effort, and everybody had to get involved. By the time we’d finished, you would never have suspected the madness that had ensued during the vacation!

I Want to Break Free

13th May 2012 / Author: admin

I really dislike all-inclusive holidays, where you’re pretty much trapped in a resort for a week or two with just holiday-makers for company.
That’s not my way of travelling. Plus it’s not good for the local economy, because the cash which holiday-makers bring in doesn’t go to the pubs or shops in the village, instead it remains in the hotel. Whenever I am holidaying I like to explore the area, to meet locals and dine in places they frequent. That is why I rent a villa whenever I’m on holiday, where I have somewhere to prepare food utilizing locally-sourced ingredients. The Menorca villa I stayed in in 2011 was massive, there was so much room in it that I might as well have brought my entire family along and they would have squeezed in comfortably.

If I’m abroad I usually rent a car for the duration, in order that I’m able to drive around wherever I want to go.
I have to admit that I do not enjoy driving on the tiny roads of Mediterranean villages, where you are often confronted with some madman going at 70mph on a moped, however nonetheless it is a terrific means by which to investigate the countryside and have a look at the scenery.

I am hardly your standard English holiday-maker, because I don’t lounge in the sun all the time turning red.
I’m continually astonished whenever I see pale-skinned folk sitting in the sun-shine for hours, I do not know why they believe it is a good idea.
In Menorca it is fairly warm in the shade, plus I don’t like slathering myself in sunblock, therefore I am just sensible and as a result I typically go home with a nice tan, instead of bright crimson.

I adore the azure sky which my vacations nearly unfailingly give me, and when I return to The United Kingdom the gloomy, overcast weather makes me miserable.
If I had the chance, I’d relocate somewhere more sunny, but there are no jobs to be had in the south of Europe at the moment, and I get a reasonable salary so I cannot complain. If nothing else, I earn enough money to travel to Menorca a few times each year!

Menorca Trips

I love the blue skies which my holidays almost unfailingly provide, and when I return to The British Isles the slate-coloured, murky weather makes me miserable.
If I was able to, I would relocate somewhere with a better climate, however there aren’t any employment opportunities to be found in the Mediterranean area at the moment, and I earn a good salary so I cannot complain. At the very least, I earn enough cash to go to Menorca several times a year!

I really don’t enjoy all-inclusive holidays, where you’re pretty much trapped in a resort for a week or two with just holiday-makers to talk to. That is not my idea of travelling.
And it is harmful for the local economy, as the money which tourists spend does not go to the bars or restaurants in the neighbourhood, instead it remains in the hotel.
When I’m on holiday I love to investigate the country, to speak to local people and eat at places they eat in.
That is why I rent a villa when I’m on vacation, meaning I have somewhere to cook meals utilizing local ingredients. The Menorca villa I rented in 2010 was huge, there was so much space inside that I might as well have brought my entire family with me and they’d have fitted in comfortably.

I’m hardly your archetypal British tourist, because I do not sit in the sun-shine all day and turn crimson. I’m always amazed when I see pale-skinned folk out in the sun for hours, I do not understand why they reckon it is a smart thing to do. In Southern Europe it’s rather hot out of the sun, and I do not enjoy slathering my body in factor 40, therefore I’m just cautious and consequently I usually finish the vacation with a nice tan, instead of luminous crimson.

If I’m holidaying I often rent an automobile for the duration, meaning that I’m able to travel about wherever I feel like going. I have to admit that I don’t like going up the little streets in Continental towns, in which you are often confronted with a lunatic doing 80mph on a moped, but nevertheless it is a good way to explore the countryside and see the landscape.

I've Seen the Future

11th May 2012 / Author: admin

I would like to retire to Menorca once I am getting on a bit. It would be wonderful to wake up each morning in the heat and have a coffee in the wee restaurant down the street, then perhaps head to the seaside for a swim. The missus tells me that I am daft to wish away my life, but I genuinely cannot wait until I can stop working and chill out.

Last year’s vacation was marvellous, but it would’ve been more enjoyable if we’d had the opportunity to stay for a month.
We were staying in a couple of Menorca villas, soaking up the sun and enjoying the Mahon cheese.
At the start of the holiday, I could not get out of work mode, I kept sending e-mails and sorting out the stuff I had not been able to do before departing. As a result week 1 was ruined by me worrying over the company. The next week was superb and I really chilled out, however it seemed to go by so quickly that I really did not want to fly home.

It’s difficult raising kids if you are working long hours.
I am lucky that the wife was very happy to stop working to focus on the children, however nonetheless I constantly feel as though I’m not in a position to commit as much time as I would wish to the boys. I always remind myself that I am trying to develop the business in order that they will have a bright future down the line, however I can’t stop believing that I am missing out on many of the best times of their youth.

I do not take as many breaks as I would ideally wish to have. Our Xmas holiday is invariably spent with my wife’s relatives, which is fun but rarely stress-free.
The vacation in summer is normally the single big holiday which I get, therefore it should be perfect.
Aside from that, I take a quick break once in a while, but I simply cannot have excessive amounts of holiday days.
The business is not large, we’ve got a small workforce, and we struggle whenever we are missing people. I like to lead from the front by not taking vacations too often.
